Start with the tax problem you actually have.
Marginwall helps people, businesses, and nonprofits with overdue filings, selected IRS and state tax notices, payroll-tax corrections, amended returns, and nonprofit filing problems.
Several years of business or personal returns were never filed
We identify the missing returns and may use prior returns, wage and income transcripts, tax account transcripts, bookkeeping files, payroll reports, and tax documents to determine what must be prepared.
The IRS or a state tax agency sent a notice
We review selected IRS and state tax notices. Send the complete letter, tax year, notice number, and response date so we can determine what the agency is asking for and whether we may be able to help.
Payroll-tax returns or payments are missing or wrong
We compare Forms 941, state payroll filings, payroll reports, tax deposits, W-2 totals, notices, and bookkeeping entries for the affected periods.
04A prior personal return needs to be amended
The return may have omitted income, a K-1, a rental property, an investment sale, a state filing, a dependent, or another tax document.
05A nonprofit missed Form 990 filings
We prepare missing Form 990-series returns and help organizations apply to reinstate federal tax-exempt status when appropriate.

How it starts
Tell us what return you need or what happened.
For return preparation, include the tax year, return type, states, and filing deadline. For a tax problem, include the missing years or the notice number and response date.
- 01
Start the intake
Choose tax return preparation or describe the letter, missing filing, payroll problem, or nonprofit issue.
- 02
We read it
If the intake gives us enough information to quote the service fee, we do. If a paid first review is needed, we explain what will be reviewed and the fee before beginning.
- 03
We explain the fee
Before any return preparation, correction, or IRS work begins, you receive the service fee in writing.

Who you work with
Direct help from an Enrolled Agent firm.
Marginwall is intentionally small. You work directly with Jonathan Nesmith, Enrolled Agent, on your tax returns, notices, and IRS matters instead of being handed from a salesperson to a separate preparation team.
An Enrolled Agent has unlimited representation rights before the IRS. Marginwall reviews the facts before agreeing to represent a client.
